Wood Buffalo Wellness Society
Wood Buffalo Wellness Society operates Housing First Programs for homeless persons under the Community Plan on Homelessness and the Mark Amy Treatment Centre.
Our Intake, Housing and Outreach Programs move people experiencing homelessness into independent and permanent housing, with supports and services needed to aid clients in maintaining housing. We also operate the Mark Amy Treatment Centre, which is a 14 bed, residential treatment centre.
Recent cuts to Provincial & Federal funding--which had previously fully funded our Homelessness Programming--has had serious implications on our ability to continue to operate. We now need to build agency awareness/brand--via social media and advertising--to assist in our fundraising goals. We are a staff of social workers and none of us possess the necessary skill sets, or the time, to create an agency awareness and fundraising campaign. We desperately require assistance in creating a social media platform as well as additional awareness campaign expertise.
Vision: A community where all are housed and free of addiction. Mission: We do this by providing culturally appropriate programs and support for addiction treatment and housing to individuals and families, focusing our efforts towards Indigenous communities, reconciliation, and wellness.
