The Fruit Rescue Juicing Coordinator(FRJC) will report to the Fruit Rescue Program (FRP) Coordinator and the Applefest Coordinator. The FRJC will work with the co-ordinators to manage picking venues, identify appropriate picking times, and assign an appropriate number of volunteers for all events during the 2019 season. The FRJC will also organize juicing at public or private events (sometimes directly onsite with trees) – specific duties will be to coordinating timing, volunteers, juicing supplies, pasteurization, cleanup and reporting back to the LSLA and the Fruit Rescue Program Coordinator.

There will be a maximum of five juicing events for the 2019 season – three public events and one to two private events for LSLA/FRP fundraising: dates to be determined.

The FRPJC will be responsible for calling and organizing volunteers using the database provided by the Fruit Rescue program Coordinator(FRPC). The FRPJC will be responsible for transporting juicing/picking supplies to and from storage, and cleaning/organizing of these supplies during the picking season. Along with duties directly related to the juicing/picking events, the FRPJC will be expected to support the Applefest Coordinator with other duties such as (but not limited to): phone calls, emails, support for setup and take-down on event days, distributing poster/pamphlet and media items, creating poster boards, and other publicity, and other clerical duties as needed. The successful candidate will be expected to attend monthly LSLA pot luck meetings to report on events and community experiences and to develop relationships with the board and membership.

We are in search of an individual who is passionate about the environment, local food security, community and collaboration. We want a self initiating person who loves to connect with the community and volunteers. We are looking for an eager individual who can both take direction and make independent decisions as appropriate. The successful candidate will be expected to attend monthly LSLA meetings to meet and get to know our board and perhaps form a longer-term relationship beyond this opportunity. We foster diversity, community and uniqueness, and welcome new ideas and suggestions on how to grow, nourish and expand our efforts.
