Our organization operates a dining room and hosts several spring events with the two big ones being Mother's Day Brunch and the Live Well Showcase in May.

Our successful intern will have an opportunity to work alongside two chefs and a team of volunteers to create two successful events; one is the vendor food services portion of a tradeshow, and the other is a family-oriented catered Mother's Day buffet brunch.

We anticipate this internship to last for the month of May (not full time).

Applicants must be available for the following dates:

  • May 2nd or May 3rd (or both!)
  • May 11th
  • May 12th

Additional time will be needed for planning, preparation and debrief, but those times are more flexible!

The Lethbridge Senior Citizens Organization is a non-profit community centre in Lethbridge with a focus on programs and services for older adults and seniors. We also operate a dining room, as well as Lethbridge's Meals on Wheels program.

Ideal for someone with course work in:

  • Culinary Kitchen Skills
  • Culinary Arts

Some specialized skills required:

  • Experience arranging catered and buffet spreads
  • Food preparation skills

What we will accomplish at the end of the Internship:

  • Help coach and direct catering volunteers
  • Support the chef with the smooth running of the events
  • Support the preparation of menu items for Mother's Day Brunch and Live Well Showcase
