This internship offers students the opportunity to work alongside experienced directors and theatre professionals to learn how to create educational and fun theatre programming for youth performers, focusing on production support.
Interns will choose one of two shows to intern on (either CYPT's May library play or our summer play), and will choose an area of specialization in which to be mentored.
Ideal for someone with course work in:
- Theatre Production
Some specialized skills required:
- theatre experience and training in a particular field (props, stage management, set, or direction)
What we will accomplish at the end of the Internship:
- Interns will assist in construction and de-construction of the set.
- Interns will work alongside mentors to create a hands-on lesson that will teach the youth involved about their specialized field.
- Interns will choose an area of specialization (props, stage management, asst. direction, or set construction) and support the production of their choice from rehearsal to stage. Props interns will build props, stage managers will coordinate with performers to take the show to stage, etc.
