This internship offers students interested in drama, education or drama education the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals in the creation and delivery of fun, meaningful, and diverse lesson plans for young people learning about theatre. 

Interns will:

  • Meet with a mentor instructor in June to learn about lesson planning, and begin building a lesson plan for a sample class
  • Shadow a mentor instructor for one week of July drama camps in, supporting and observing as the instructor delivers their lesson plan
  • Support camp activities, including the creation of and delivery of end-of-day "drama olympics" exercises
  • Lead one week of drama camp exercises, under the mentorship and supervision of a mentor instructor, including teaching a  workshop to youth and creating a play with a group of kids

  • Arts Education
  • Theatre Arts

Some specialized skills required:

  • Instruction

What we will accomplish at the end of the Internship:

  • Create a play with a group of campers in the second week of camp
  • Support and assist at two weeks of drama camp, including creating a list of existing and potential drama olympics exercises
  • Create a lesson plan for a drama workshop that can be tailored and adapted to various age groups
