The intern will work closely with the Battle River Group, a consortium of organizations that are hosting the 2019 Lt. Governor of Alberta Arts Awards. For more information, check here: https://www.battleriverarts.ca/

"In Their Footsteps" is an exciting regional project involving a number of cooperating organizations. For example, some items will be coming to our project from the Aboriginal Museum of Arts and Artifacts at Portage College, Lac la Biche http://www.portagecollege.ca/Museum

This work relating to this project and exhibition is based at the Camrose Station Museum and Park http://tourismcamrose.com/business/camrose-railway-museum-park/

The overall project promotes learning about Alberta histories and cultures by depicting life stories and experiences through the footwear that real people have worn. Examples consist of hand crafted new and old indigenous mocassins, snow shoes, etc; miner boots worn during the coal mining periods in the region; farmer boots; nurses shoes; shoes of regional celebrities and heroes; refugee shoes; shoes handcrafted for special purposes in developing countries - including the countries from which new refugees have come to Alberta; etc.

The PROMOTIONS-MARKETING Intern will actively engage with other project team members to develop and launch a public relations program that will educate people about the overall project and exhibition and bring visitors into the exhibition.
