The interns are required to take stock of what historical records and photographs are currently in the possession of the ASA Calgary Centre. The desire is to ensure that these records and photos are catalogued and documented digitally such that the information they contain can be accessed and the documents put in long term storage for preservation. The interns will provide an overview of the existing archival materials and prepare a management plan, including budget, timeline, and strategy for managing and archiving the collection. 

Ideal for someone with course work in:

  • Information and Records Management
  • Database Administration
  • Arts and Cultural Management
  • Library Information Technology
  • Library and Information Technology

Some specialized skills required:

  • records conservation is an asset
  • database design is an asset
  • archival records management is an asset

What we will accomplish at the end of the Internship:

  • Prepare a management plan, including budget, timeline, and strategy for managing and archiving the collection both digitally and physically (including outlining any specific software and archival requirements).
  • Provide an overview of the existing archival materials
