Our Organization

The Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) Alberta Division is a provincial organization where Albertans find compassionate support, responsible care and accessible resources.

For more than 60 years in Alberta, CMHA has focused on community based services, recovery and support for Albertans impacted by mental illness.  We stand with people living in their community as they achieve their wellness goals.

CMHA Alberta Division operates as a registered charity within the not-for-profit sector. We work at the intersection of clinical and local mental health care. Our programs, projects and services are developed to address the unique needs of individuals and communities.

The Role

The Accreditation Coordinator will work closely with the Project Manager to get the organization accredited through the Imagine Canada Standards Program.  

The purpose of the project will be to obtain accreditation for the organization while also updating policies and procedures to align with best practices.

Overall Responsibilities

- Understand current CMHA policies and procedures and make edits and changes as needed.

- Create new policies to adhere to the standards of Imagine Canada.

- Work with the CMHA Board of Directors to get approval on all new and existing policy sets.

-Combine all policies and procedures in a coherent handbook.

-Submit all information to Imagine Canada for the approval of accreditation.

Self-motivated and flexible, with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment of frequent change and within an ambiguous landscape.

Support

The Accreditation Coordinator will be supported by the CMHA Alberta Division Project Manager.

Experience Required

No experience is required. All training and information will be provided.

Work Environment

The Accreditation Coordinator will have the opportunity to work both at the CMHA Alberta office and from home.

What we will accomplish at the end of the Internship:

  • Submit policies to Imagine Canada for accreditation approval
  • Create an employee and board handbook in an organized fashion
  • Complete all organzational policy revisions and creation
