Event Marketing Intern

Mile Zero Dance’s mandate is devoted to the development, education, and production of contemporary dance in Edmonton. We are a contemporary dance company that creates and produces original dynamic interdisciplinary works focusing on performance, collaboration, community outreach, and training. Mile Zero Dance’s Vision is to create and foster original avant-garde dance and performance works in the Alberta arts scene, and to increase our profile nationally and internationally.

 

We are seeking Marketing Interns for the Zero Gravity International Performance Art Festival in May 10-19th 2019.

 

Ideal for someone with Course Work in:

Specialized skills required:

  • Social media savvy
  • Basic video production skills
  • Ability to work independently within a hierarchy
  • Ability to assess information and solve problems quickly and appropriately

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Attention to detail
  • Leadership skills

What We Will Accomplish at the End of the Internship:

The student will assist in Marketing for Mile Zero Dance’s upcoming Zero Gravity International Performance Art Festival featuring several international caliber performance artists doing a 5-day workshop, followed by four full days of performances. Zero Gravity International Performance Art Festival is a site-specific, immersive event that asks these artists to question and respond to the world we live in. There will be two main venues, including Spazio Performativo, (Mile Zero Dance’s venue in Little Italy), as well as outdoor and alternative venues.

What we will accomplish at the end of the Internship:

  • Analyze marketing stats to complete reports on event
  • Provide effective communications throughout the event to the public
  • Effectively edit and distribute marketing materials from artists to media outlets
  • Create and distribute marketing materials
  • Provide social media, blog, and website reviews, commentary, photos, and video for the event
