Under the guidance of the Media and Marketing Director, the Social Media Intern will create and distribute social media content for the CANOE THEATRE FESTIVAL. The CANOE Theatre Festival is a stream of the large CHINOOK SERIES. CANOE is now in its 12th year of programming ground breaking theatre from around the world.  Social media tools are Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.  Preparations and planning begin January 15th which can be done off-site.  he Intern is expected  to be onsite for the entire CANOE Theatre festival February 7-17, 2019 at the ATB Financial Arts Barn (Fringe Theatre.) The Intern will focus primarily on creating content on Instagram, with Facebook and Twitter content being secondary.

  • Communication Studies
  • Digital Communications and Media
  • Communication and Media Studies
  • Theatre Arts

Some specialized skills required:

  • Be comfortable working in a group setting
  • Experience working creatively and independently
  • Experience in creating social media content using Instagram, Twitter and Facebook.

What we will accomplish at the end of the Internship:

  • Track metrics and prepare a short written report at the conclusion of the internship
  • Create social media content reporting on the daily events of the Festival To be present at the Chinook Series from Feb. 7-17, 2019 from 5 p.m.-10 p.m. Create Create daily content for FB, Twitter, and Instagram from Jan. 15-Feb. 17, 2019
  • Under the direction of the Media and Communications Director, create a social media plan for the CANOE THEATRE FESTIVAL
