We are looking for someone who can assist our Sherwood Park non-profit organization, Linking Generations, to update our existing website, including some graphic design materials - www.Linkinggenerations.ca .
We currently use a WordPress theme; in this internship you will be responsible for working with our current theme to create/improve the design/layout. We are looking for someone who has knowledge of this web platform, and can provide direction, guidance and creative supportive to more effectively organize the content and improve the design. We would like our non-profit organization to have a strong and effective web presence that is both visually appealing and user friendly. This individual would also be responsible for creating A simple guide-book to instruct future Linking Generations webmasters how to manage and update the website moving forward.
The Intern must be a current post-secondary student, living in Alberta, and must register with the Serving Communities Internship Program (SCiP). The applicant can work from home locally (Sherwood Park) within their schedule to complete this internship, however they will be required to meet regularly throughout the project with one executive member as they complete the required tasks.
Ideal for someone with course work in:
- Web Design
- Web Developer
- Graphic Design
- Digital Communications and Media
Some specialized skills required:
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Experience working with WordPress plugins and troubleshooting
What we will accomplish at the end of the Internship:
- Design a simple manual to assist with website upkeep
- Ensure the website is newly updated and current
