The Fruit Rescue Juicing Coordinator(FRJC) will receive  directions from and report back to the Fruit Rescue Program (FRP) Coordinator and the Applefest Coordinator. The FRJC will collaborate to identify appropriate times for picking and number of volunteers needed for all events during the 2018 season. The FRPJC organizes juicing at public or private events (sometimes directly onsite with trees) – the duties will be coordinating timing, volunteers, juicing supplies, pasteurization, cleanup and reporting back to the LSLA and the Fruit Rescue Program Coordinator.

Note that the expectation for the 2018 season is no more than 5 juicing “events” – 2 public events prior to AppleFest, 1 public event post AppleFest, & if possible, 1-2 private events for LSLA/FRP fundraising.

The FRPJC will be responsible for calling and organizing the volunteers based on the data base provided by the Fruit Rescue program Coordinator(FRPC). The FRPJC will be responsible for transporting juicing/picking supplies to and from storage, cleaning and organization of same supplies during the picking season. Along with the duties directly involved with the juicing/picking events, the FRPJC will be expected to support the Applefest Coordinator with other duties such as (but not limited to): distribution of poster/pamphlet and media items, clerical items ie. phone calls, stapling, creating poster boards, emails and support for set up and take down on the day of Applefest, August 11th, 2018 11-7 pm. It is an expectation of the candidate that they will attend the monthly pot luck/meetings for the LSLA to report their experiences in the community and develop relationship with the board.

We are in search of an individual who is passionate about our environment, local food security, community and collaboration. We want a self initiating person who loves to connect with the community and volunteers. The candidate will be expected to attend the monthly LSLA meetings to meet and get to know our board and perhaps form a longer standing relationship past this opportunity.
