Latitude 53 is Alberta’s leading contemporary art centre with a mandate of supporting and promoting innovative artists through accessible programming and opportunities for engagement. As a non-profit artist run centre, Latitude 53 depends on fundraising initiatives including events like Schmoozy, our annual winter event featuring local artists and musicians, artwork for auction, and food and drinks from our generous sponsors.

The Schmoozy Design Intern will create, produce, and implement the visual design for the event including digital content for social media and our website, advertising copy, printed material, and on-site elements and collateral for the event itself. This is an exceptional design project opportunity with significant portfolio potential in developing concept for inception through to final production and evaluation. The selected candidate must have proficiency in the Adobe Suite and be comfortable working within tight deadlines.  Weekly meetings with Latitude 53 staff and volunteer Special Events Committee representatives will produce feedback for the Design Intern to respond to.

The project will begin October 10 with November 7 as a printing date for the November 25 event; this internship should be completed by December 1. This project is designed to serve as professional experience designing for a client for a student with experience and passion for visual communication design.
