Get Your Award

Finished your internship? Here’s how to claim your $1000 award from the Government of Alberta.
To claim your award, we need the following documents:

  1. End of Internship Declaration – submitted online by your internship supervisor indicating you have completed the deliverables listed in the letter of agreement.
  2. Award Payment Request – submitted online by you after your internship supervisor has submitted the End of Internship Declaration.
  3. Proof of Enrolment – submitted online by you. Can be uploaded at any time during your internship.

International students only: In addition to the three documents listed above, please provide a scan of your valid study permit.

These documents must be submitted online through your account on the SCiP website. Sign in to your SCiP account now! 
Once we have received your three award application documents (or four in the case of international students) we will submit your award application with the next batch. An award application must be submitted 18 months from the beginning of that internship.

If you started an internship prior to August 1, 2016, you must submit your award application documents manually by email scip@volunteeralberta.ab.ca or by mail at:

The SCiP team submits completed award applications to the Government of Alberta in batches every month or so. Please allow up to 6 weeks from the time that your award application is submitted to the government to receive your $1000 award. Award application batches will be submitted on the following dates:

February 24, 2017
March 31, 2017
April 28, 2017
May 26, 2017
June 30, 2017
July 28, 2017
August 25, 2017
September 29, 2017
October 27, 2017
November 24, 2017
December 19, 2017
